Disposal of old electrical devices & batteries

Information on the disposal of old electrical and electronic devices (ElektroG)

This information describes take-back in Germany, from where we ship. If you order to another country, the national collection and take-back schemes apply there. Waste equipment and batteries must not be put in household waste there either and have to be collected separately.

Some of our products (e.g. displays, chargers, electronic components) are electrical devices within the meaning of the Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG). As a consumer, you are legally obliged to collect old appliances separately from unsorted municipal waste.

Crossed-out trash can symbol: Electrical devices marked with this symbol must not be disposed of with household waste.

Free return options: You can hand in old devices free of charge at the public collection points in your city or municipality (e.g. recycling centers) as well as at large electrical and food retailers with an obligation to take them back. An overview of collection points in your area can be found, among other things, on the portal of the stiftung elektro-altgeräte register (stiftung ear).

Batteries and rechargeable batteries: Used batteries and accumulators that are not firmly enclosed in the device must be removed before the old device is handed over and disposed of separately (e.g. via collection boxes in stores). Batteries contain pollutants and valuable materials - the symbols under the crossed-out garbage can (Pb, Cd, Hg) stand for the heavy metals they contain.

Deletion of personal data: Please note that you are responsible for deleting personal data on old devices that are to be disposed of.

Reuse comes first: By purchasing spare parts to repair your e-bike, you are already making a contribution to avoiding waste - thank you for that!
