Spider assembly tool for the lock nut (lockring) on Specialized 3.1 / 2.2 / 2.1 / 1.3 / 1.2 motors

From the current 3.1 all the way back to the 1.2: the lock nut of the Specialized motors can only be loosened and retightened without damage using a precisely fitting spider socket. The tool engages positively with the lockring teeth, transmits high torque safely and protects nut and thread from slipping.

Two drive sizes to choose from

So the tool matches your existing wrench set, it comes in two versions – please select the appropriate variant when ordering:

• 1/2" (half inch): for large ratchets and torque wrenches.
• 3/8": for medium-sized tools.
• In addition: the hexagonal body can also be driven with a 32 mm open-end or ring spanner.

Important assembly notes

• Thread direction: these motors use a RIGHT-HAND thread – unlike many other drives.
• Tightening torque: 25–30 Nm is recommended, but only 20 Nm on the Specialized 3.1; ideally work with a torque wrench.
